The 2012 Glenlivet gift set contains one 750ml bottle of the 12yr Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch, a 50ml bottle of the Glenlivet 15yr, and a 50ml bottle of the Glenlivet 18yr with a tasting booklet. The Glenlivet 12yr has a playful interlacing nose of floral and fruity aromas. It opens in time on creamier and richer notes: stewed greengages, ripe apricots, vanilla crème anglaise and a hint of marshmallow. The oak tenderly enhances that enticing bouquet with more vanilla notes and nutty hints: an echo of toasted oats, soft spices, green cardamom and a touch of caraway seeds. PALATE: Silky feel, flowing on the tongue. Smooth and sweet fruity basket: white peaches, pears poached in vanilla syrup and a hint of pineapple juice. Honeyed flowers and almond biscuits are also present. FINISH: Nutty, marzipan, fresh hazelnuts, spicy with freshly grated ginger.
